Barmston Attraction Open For Half Term

The Washington Gazette was on hand with the excited local residents of Barmston, Washington to report on the opening of a new attraction this half term.

A 25ft slide, which today has been officially opened to the public.

Much larger than your average playground equipment, the move is hoped to attract hundreds of visitors during the schools half term.

Excited families eagerly awaited the opening, and were not disappointed with the thrills it provided. "The ladders are a bit shaky," said young thrill seeker Abby Fike, 7, of Waskerley Way, Barmston.

It certainly didn't deter other families from arriving and wanting to join in.

"Back in my day slides used to always be this big. It's great to see someone win one against those health and safety nutters!" commented big slide enthusiast Graham Robinson, 36 from Station Road, Washington Village.

The Washington Gazette hopes to keep you up to date with all the special events occurring for the Easter break all around Washington.
